KADIN and SFUVET Sign MoU for Improved Vocational Education and Training in Indonesia

On January 19th, 2023, the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN) and the Swiss Federal University for Vocational Education and Training (SFUVET) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the goal of enhancing the reputation of Vocational Education and Training (VET) in Indonesia.


The MoU aims to support KADIN and its stakeholders in revitalizing the VET system in Indonesia. The focus will be on conducting an initial assessment of the VET system's challenges, developing a stakeholder map with effective communication strategies, and enhancing the competitiveness of Indonesian VET graduates. This will be achieved by supporting the development of curriculums that align with industry needs and providing opportunities for competitive internships.


Francis Wanandi, Head of Bilateral Committee for Switzerland, will represent KADIN as the principal contact responsible for implementing the MOU. Erik Swars, Head of International Affairs, will represent SFUVET as the principal contact.


The MoU between KADIN and SFUVET is a 3-year agreement with the possibility of extension, that can be reviewed or amended at any time by both parties. In case of termination, any ongoing projects will continue until completion, unless agreed otherwise by both parties. This MoU marks a significant step in improving the VET system in Indonesia and will benefit both the Indonesian private sector and the future workforce. The collaboration between KADIN and SFUVET is a testament to the
